During filming Project K in Hyderabad, megastar Amitabh Bachchan suffered a muscle tear in his right rib cage. The misshapen occurred while filming an action shot, when Amitabh’s rib cartilage “popped,” causing him to suffer an injury, he claimed in a blog post. After receiving medical attention in Hyderabad, he returned back to Mumbai and is now recovering at Jalsa, his Mumbai home.

Amitabh Bachchan said that he is “mobile a little for necessary chores” but mainly is resting. He acknowledged the discomfort in his Tumblr blog post, writing, “Yes, painful. Regarding mobility and breathing, they say it will take some weeks before some normalcy will occur.” A Sunday meet-and-greet with admirers outside his home, which is Big B’s Sunday ritual for decades, was also canceled. He concluded the post, which was uploaded on Sunday, by pleading with them not to congregate at Jalsa as usual.

In his post, Amitabh Bachchan wrote: “In Hyderabad at the shoot for Project K, during an action shot, I have got injured – rib cartilage popped broke and muscle tear to the right rib cage, canceled shoot, did Doctor consult and scan by CT at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad and flown back home. Strapping has been done and rest has been advocated. Yes, it’s painful. On movement and breathing, it will take some weeks they say before some normalization will occur. Some medication is also for pain.”

“So all work that was to be done has been suspended and canceled, dropped postponed for the moment until healing occurs,” Amitabh Bachchan continued, “I rest at Jalsa and am mobile a bit for all the essential activities, but yes in rest and generally lying around.”

Adding further, he stated, “It shall be difficult or let me say I shall be unable to meet the well wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening. So do not come and inform as much as you can to those that intend to come. All else is well,” Big B ended his post.

Jay-Ho! The Jay Kumar Show wishes Amitabh Bachchan a quick recovery. We hope to see him soon on the sets and the big screen as well.
