‘I’m Definitely Not A Casanova! ‘- Agastya Nanda On Playing Archie Andrews In The Teenage Musical ‘The Archies’

In a recent interview with India Today, Agastya Nanda was asked if he was similar to the character Archie Andrews. Incidentally, Agastya will debut in the Zoya Akhtar directorial The Archies where he is playing the role of the flamboyant Archie Andrews. 

Agastya informed he is ‘definitely not a casanova’ and as such he isn’t like the character. Although a similarity that can be drawn between the two is the love for music “because it helps you deal with a lot of emotions and that’s where we are kind of similar”. 

In the interview, the young actor revealed his role model is his late grandmother Ritu Nanda whose warmth comforted him so much and made him believe anything was possible for him.

Agastya is the son of Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda. Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are his maternal grandparents. In the interview, he revealed his excitement about his upcoming film. “Being on Netflix is such an exciting opportunity, being streamed in 190 countries at once. I find it so exciting. I couldn’t have asked for a better team of people to work with. These guys over here have become my best friends and we hang out a lot, actually a bit too much.”

The Archies

Agastya Nanda will debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. The Netflix film also marks the debut of other star kids like Suhana Khan, the daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, and Khushi Kapoor, the younger daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. Suhana will play the role of Veronica Lodge, Agastya Nanda will play Archie Andrews and Khushi Kapoor will play Betty Cooper in the teen-musical comedy. The film also has Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, Yuvraj Menda, and a bunch of fresh new faces.

Based on the ‘60s English comics The Archies is a romantic comedy celebrating youth, friendship, romance, and the different shades of teenage life.
