In the midst of an unrelenting downpour wreaking havoc in Punjab, actor-philanthropist Sonu Sood once again shines as a beacon of hope. Filled with heartfelt concern for those affected, Sonu took a proactive step and launched a helpline to aid those grappling with the devastating floods.

Taking to Twitter, Sonu Sood poured out his emotions, “My Beloved Punjab, My Heart Aches for You. As the floods wreak havoc on the land that raised me, I can’t bear to stand idly by. Punjab, you’ve given me so much, and now it’s time to give back. Together, we’ll weather this storm, rebuild, and emerge stronger for our fellow Punjabis in need.”

The heavy monsoon rainfall has left several districts of Punjab and Haryana in a state of disarray, paralyzing normal life and inundating vast stretches of residential and agricultural land. Even as the floodwaters recede in some areas, the path to recovery remains arduous. In these challenging times, Sonu Sood’s helpline has become a ray of hope for those grappling with the aftermath of the natural disaster.

People in need can now reach out for help through a dedicated number, and the @SoodFoundation is also open to extend support.

Sonu Sood’s philanthropic efforts have not gone unnoticed. Named the “State Icon” of Punjab for his selfless contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic, he has consistently shown his dedication to helping those in need. Despite being hailed as a symbol of hope and compassion, Sonu humbly stepped down from the position of “State Icon” ahead of the 2022 Assembly elections. The decision was taken “mutually” by him and the Election Commission, highlighting his commitment to staying apolitical and prioritizing the well-being of the people he serves.
