Amidst the backdrop of India’s ambitious Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission, actor Prakash Raj finds himself embroiled in controversy due to a social media post that seemingly poked fun at the mission.

The versatile actor, recognized for his candid opinions and diverse roles, recently shared a caricature on the microblogging site X. The illustration depicted a man in a shirt and lungi pouring tea, accompanied by the caption, “First view just arrived from Chandrayaan… #VikramLander #justasking.” While the post was likely intended as light-hearted humor, it triggered an unforeseen chain reaction.

Within the context of India’s ambitious Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission, leaders of Hindu organizations in Karnataka’s Bagalkot district took umbrage at the actor’s post, interpreting it as a mockery of the nation’s pride. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged against Prakash Raj, leading to police intervention.

Responding to the mounting backlash, Prakash Raj defended his intentions with a clarifying post. He stated, “Hate sees only hate… I was referring to a joke of #Armstrong times celebrating our Kerala Chaiwala – which Chaiwala did the Trolls see? If you don’t get a joke then the joke is on you… GROW UP #justasking.”

Concurrently, the Chandrayaan-3 mission is set to make history by landing on the moon’s surface on August 23. This endeavor stands as a remarkable achievement in the world of space exploration. India is on the cusp of becoming the fourth nation globally to accomplish this feat. Notably, the mission’s distinctive attribute lies in its planned landing on the lunar South Pole, a singular accomplishment that sets India’s contribution to lunar exploration apart.
