The enchanting melody has left Alia Bhatt, who portrays the lead character ‘Rani,’ mesmerized. Alia shared the song on her social media, expressing her emotions by writing, “This song gives me butterflies every single time! Kudmayi out now.”

For Shahid Mallya, the song holds a special place in his heart, as it brought back nostalgic memories of his sister’s wedding. Talking about the song, Shahid said, “As I discussed the song and lyrics with Pritam Da, all the nostalgic moments of my sister’s marriage started floating in front of my eyes.”
Despite recording the song two years back, Shahid found a fresh and emotional connection with ‘Kudmayi’ during the recording process. “Every time I sang this song, it felt like I sang it just yesterday,” he added.
The Punjabi term ‘Kudmayi,’ which translates to Roka or Rishta Jud Jana, holds deep significance in the song’s emotional theme. Shahid shared, “The song portrays the mixed emotions when you bid farewell to a family member who is starting a new journey with someone else’s family.”
The soulful singer was deeply moved by the song’s picturization in the movie. “After seeing the song on-screen, even my eyes filled with tears,” Shahid confessed.
