In a groundbreaking milestone for Indian cinema, the sequel to the iconic 2001 blockbuster, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, has etched its name in history once again. Sunny Deol’s latest release, “Gadar 2,” has not only captured hearts but also set records by becoming the first Indian film to grace the screens in the city of Monterrey, Mexico.

Directed by the Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 brings to life an engaging narrative. Set in the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War, the film follows the journey of a determined Sikh man on a mission to rescue his son from across the border. With a cast that includes the charismatic Sunny Deol, the talented Ameesha Patel, and the promising Utkarsh Sharma, Gadar 2 is a perfect blend of star power and storytelling.

The sequel, which was released in theatres on August 11, has shattered conventional boundaries with its staggering success. Gadar 2’s monumental second Sunday saw it amass a remarkable ₹40 crores. Notably, within a 10-day span, the film achieved the remarkable feat of surpassing the ₹30 crores mark on eight separate occasions.

As the box office figures continue to soar, Gadar 2 effortlessly crossed the significant milestone of ₹350 crores.

Sunny Deol, overwhelmed by the positive response from around the world, shared, “We had the conviction and we decided to go for it. For 22 years, the field was empty. Why weren’t films like this being made? If such films were being made, the scenario would have been different. The field was empty. That’s why we came, and we did our job!” His words reflect not only the film’s triumphant journey but also the spirit of innovation that fuels cinematic excellence.
